Greetings to all.
We are looking forward to resuming concert-giving activities in the autumn with recitals in Newcastle and Yorkshire and it's good to report that we are receiving enquiries for concerts in 2023.
As an ensemble we are continuing to develop our programmes, freshening up the Georgian presentation with new repertoire.
Do get in touch - we welcome any enquiries no matter how tentative.
With very best wishes,
Peter Harrison, director Concert Royal, May 2022
Founded by flautist Peter Harrison and historic keyboard specialist John Treherne, Concert Royal’s musicians have given concerts together for over forty years. Playing period instruments and performing in historically-informed style, Peter, John and ’cellist Rachel Gray recreate the elegant sound worlds of the baroque and classical eras.
The York-based ensemble has given hundreds of recitals in every corner of the UK, performing extensively for The National Trust, in festivals and for music and arts societies, in churches, schools and arts centres. Concert Royal has toured in Europe, the USA and for the British Council in South America.
Concert Royal supports the work of The National Centre for Early Music in York.
